Isaiah 50:4 The Sovereign Lord has given me an instructed tongue, to know the word that sustains the weary. He wakens me morning by morning, wakens my ear to listen like one being taught.
Isaiah 50:7 Because the Sovereign Lord helps me, I will not be disgraced. Therefore have I set my face like flint, and I know I will not be put to shame.
The song, “I Know Who I Am” comes to mind here. I do know who I am, but boy do I need to be reminded everyday! I have an instructed tongue. I do know the word that sustains the weary. I am awakened by the Lord and am listening to Him. I have the Lord’s help. I will not be disgraced! Therefore, I will not back down, I will not turn and run, I will not be afraid, but I will grit my teeth within me and go forward to the places God has for me. I am not afraid of being put to shame because God has given me an instructed tongue and His counsel – plus He is my helper! I believe it,I confess it and I receive it from you today my Lord! Roar like a lion within me that I will not shy away from anything!
