July 1

I was reading this morning thinking – wow, this is the same thing over again – it is the same lesson. I was asking God what He wanted to teach me and it is a lesson that I have written about several times already. I then felt like I shouldn’t write it down again – that I should have something new. However God spoke to me about that and simply said, that maybe I needed the lesson more than once. I receive it Lord. I don’t know about you, but I can be pretty hard headed.

The lesson is why God judges (Damascus turned back to God) and also what goes on in His heart. When talking about Moab, which is not within Israel, Isaiah writes that God’s heart is broken for the people. It is revealing isn’t it? God’s heart breaks for people who are going through it, even when they deserve it! As the song writer has penned, “this is our God”. He is safe for me to put my trust in. His heart is continually for me.
