Psalm 144:1–2 (NIV)
1 Praise be to the LORD my Rock,
who trains my hands for war,
my fingers for battle.
2 He is my loving God and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues peoples under me.

It is God who trains our hands for WAR. We do not fight against flesh and blood anymore, but against principalities… We battle against thoughts and belief systems and the demons that teach them. We are a people who must be engaged in battle! This isn’t some walk in the park – we all know that full well. Life is tough, even in the west! We are a people who have to fight, yet we resist engaging so much that we are overcome while we are trying to call a truce! We are fighters, trained to fight against rulers in dark places and the thoughts that come against the very Word of God. Those negative arrows that cause unbelief will be brought to submission. They will be brought low and trampled on – why – because we are trained for battle – that is what we do!

Psalm 144:12–14 (NIV)
12 Then our sons in their youth
will be like well-nurtured plants,
and our daughters will be like pillars
carved to adorn a palace.
13 Our barns will be filled
with every kind of provision.
Our sheep will increase by thousands,
by tens of thousands in our fields;
14 our oxen will draw heavy loads.
There will be no breaching of walls,
no going into captivity,
no cry of distress in our streets.

Who doesn’t want that for their lives? It only comes through battle! If you are going to attain the promises of God, you have to FIGHT for them! The Goliaths in life will taunt you, but you have to kill them and cut their heads off in order to attain what we have been rightfully given and inwardly desire. Do you want to live a life of prosperity? Fight for it! The battle is the Lord’s to be sure, but it was David who cut Goliath’s head off!
