10 Lepers asked for mercy. Evidentially they all believed and they all were healed. That much is common knowledge. Only one came back to Jesus to give thanks, and as Jesus pointed out, he was a foreigner, someone of mixed decent. (He said that to dramatize the point that the Jews in the groups didn’t come back and give praise to God). Get this though – 10 lepers were indeed healed. The other 9 who didn’t come back were healed! God is a healing God! He said I am the Lord/God Healer. The 9 lepers that were healed curiously didn’t come back and praise God for their healing. Of course God knew beforehand they wouldn’t, and He STILL HEALED THEM! Did you get that? They were ungrateful and God still healed! We doubt God will heal us for all the wrong reasons! Jesus healed at least one guy who was NOT privy to the covenant in which healing was included and He healed 9 guys who were ungrateful for their healing! Healing is a lot less about us and more about God’s character – He loves to heal!
