June 1

No matter what you think of the whole story of the prophet, there is a powerful lesson of strict obedience. When I don't follow the Lord's will and Word, I open myself up to devouring! It is quite sobering to think about. I am reminded that the devil prowls like a lion seeking to devour people. He will have opportunity to reek havoc in my life only when I don't follow the Word of the Lord. How far outside of God's will do I have to get? I don't know - and I never want to find out through experience.
