Honestly, I wish this were one of the days that I didn’t blog, but here it is, a story that saddens the heart. The thing that gets me the most is the compassion of God and how slow to anger He is. At the end of our reading today it says that God repaid the wickedness that Abimelech had done to his father… God waited 3 years before the judgment came. That sure seems like a long time. You can look at this 2 ways. You can complain about God taking so long or you can see the patient Father. God is slow to anger and I am personally glad about that! He has been so patient with me, and given me time to change. Although Abimelech would be dealt with because killing 70 innocents warrants judgment, so does my sin. God is compassionate, slow to anger and rich in love.
